Spring bar tools are designed to make the exchanging of watch straps on watches an easier task. The fork end of the spring bar tool is normally used for removing the watch strap. Place it between the strap and the watch casing, find the notch on the spring bar and use to tool to push that part of the spring bar towards the middle of the strap to release it from the watch casing. If you turn the watch strap slightly whilst pushing the spring bar, the watch strap will be separated from the watch. In order to fit a new watch strap to a watch, first put the spring bar through the new watch strap and, with the watch strap at a slight angle, set one side of the spring bar in the hole for it in the watch casing. Take your spring bar tool and using the forked end once again, find the notch on the spring bar and push the spring bar towards the middle of the strap again. In a fluid motion, straighten the watch strap and bring it into place between the horns of the watch casing, keeping the pressure on the spring bar. Once the strap is in place, release the spring bar, letting it fall into its hole in the watch casing. A spring bar tool is relatively easy to use and helps you to exchange your watch straps at home or work without having to go to a watch maker or jeweller.
